Wayout, helmed by James Kumo, launched as a platform for the Manchester based producer and DJ’s new guise, K•Mo. Over the past few releases the label has unveiled a debut album under the alias as well as EP’s featuring collaborations & remixes from the likes of Byron The Aquarius, Manakinz, Mahal and Larry Quest. Here for the labels seventh release K•Mo delivers his latest single.
The ‘Ride With Me’, original mix is a Detroit flavoured deep house cut, with smatterings of Chandler esq piano chords, deep thunderous baselines and a dreamy sax lines. One for the headz!
In support, two excellent remixes….first up Leonid Nevermind brings his interpretation of 'Ride With Me', with a more soulful approach….easing gently in with little vocal samples and soulful chords patterns and a seriously fat baseline, adding sprinkles of the original, particularly the percussion elements. This is deep, and gorgeous!
Lastly, the mystery man that is Westcoast Goddess, here he delivers in the only way he knows how, seriously accomplished keyboard player and here he shows why. Taking the Original and flipping it on it’s head, offering up a scrumptious & very melodic deep house classic.

K•Mo’s Wayout Records returns with a new single, entitled ‘Time Travel’ and backed with remixes from Toby Tobias and Yard One.
Here for the labels fifth release K•Mo deliver his latest single, while welcoming Rekids artist Toby Tobias and Tact Recordings co-founders Yard One on remix duties.
The original mix of ‘Time Travel’ leads, laying down pulsating pad lines, choppy bass stabs and sun drenched synth plucks to create an ethereal slice of deep house. Toby Tobias’ ‘Distant Flute Remix’ follows, laid out across nine minutes with a snaking bass groove and crunchy, dynamic breaks while stirring in the original’s cinematic textures.
The second remix from Tobias, ‘Dub Harder’ follows, as the name would suggest offering a more gritty dub leaning aesthetic via swirling remnants of the original’s chords, distorted bass tones and an upfront, driving drum groove.
Last up is Yard One’s ‘Dream Travel Reshape’ which twist’s the original’s deep vibe into a more robust house cut, fusing gritty off-kilter drums with vacillating synth tones, a stab-led synth sequence and a more loop led, subtly nuanced feel.
K•Mo continues his run of releases, and brings two house pumpers to Wayout, title track Dancing and Trancing designed for peak-time dance floor business, this is supported by Forgotten Rhythms, a Detroit inspired number for mellower moments.
K•Mo is back at the helm, following his recently well supported 7th Heaven release, with another club groover entitled 'Played'. This time collaborating with Paris born DJ and producer, Larry Quest who is on remix duty.

First up, K•Mo's original version is a solid deep house jam, full of melodic chord arrangements and lush ethereal pad swirls, with hypnotic sax stabs and organic percussion patterns. All this supported with a Chicago esq sounding baseline to boot.
Supporting the original cut, we have Larry Quest. Larry has already notched up 5 EPs under his belt, his late 2019 debut 12" Conun Drums on Jimpster’s imprint, Delusions Of Grandeur.
With his interpretation of Played, whilst he retains core elements of the original, he add's some serious flavour by adding his own deep chords and key arrangements, acid undertones and overall groove is lifted to another level.
K•Mo follows up his debut album ‘Vision’, released on Wayout in 2019, with his new single ‘7th Heaven’, backed with remixes from Tokyo’s Mahal and Sub Club’s Harri and Affi under their Manakinz guise.

For the first half of the package K•Mo delivers two originals and title cut ‘7th Heaven’ leads. Bringing swirling, deep atmospheric pads, hypnotic drum patterns and organic percussion into focus. His second original jam, ‘Praise’, retains a similarly drum-led aesthetic while introducing a more melodious feel via ethereal strings, bright piano lines and hypnotic textures to create an authentic slice of heads down deep house.
The latter half of the EP welcomes two remixes, first up is Tokyo-based DJ and producer, Mahal with his ‘Oneness Vision Remix’ of 7th Heaven, putting his stamp on the original and focusing heavily on a deep thunderous kick choppy bass hits while an amalgamation of lush strings, trippy vocals and jazz-leaning sounds also enter the fray. Lastly to round out the release is some Glasgow house royalty, with Manakinz aka Harri - Sub Club resident and Affi Koman, Sunday Circus resident. The duo rework the original deep feel’ of Praise’ into a more robust house cut, keeping the core of the composition whilst stirring in uplifting piano lines, dynamic percussion, acid-tinged resonant licks and a bumpy bass line.

Label-head JAMES KUMO brings three original cuts to his KMusic imprint with Plan B co-founder DJ SPIDER on remix duties. Title track 'Drifter' kicks things off as celestial pads swell alongside rumbling sub bass and ethereal arpeggios before off-kilter synths and rugged industrial drums are presented by New York's DJ Spider who steps up to deliver a darker and more dramatic aesthetic with his interpretation. Next, 'Evolution' sees Kumo utilise stereo delayed chord stabs as underpinning pads create an ethereal feel. Rounding off the package, 'Spectro Jazz' sees a brooding top line resonating alongside jazz-infused atmospherics and subtle background effects to create a raw, refined and hypnotic finish to the release.
James Kumo delivers two underground electronic house cuts, designed for the dance floor.
Bruise (aka Diesel & Christian Campbell) bring their Detroit flavoured house business to this James Kumo track, from 2015.
